2020 Election Brings Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." Back to Charts
Pop legend Miley Cyrus' hit single "Party in the U.S.A." peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 when it was first released in 2009, and has made a comeback to the charts following the recent presidential election.
The song has made its way onto several charts for the first time in more than a decade, and is expected to hit many more this week as people celebrate the election results. According to Variety, "Party in the U.S.A." has re-entered the iTunes Top 200 song chart, making the track one of the most downloaded songs on the iTunes store. Streams of "Party in the U.S.A" are also boosted on Spotify, reaching the top 200 songs on the U.S. Spotify streaming chart over the weekend.
Cyrus appeared in headlines recently after collaborating with Stevie Nicks to create “Edge of Midnight (Midnight Sky Remix).” The mashup comes just after the announcement of her 7th studio album, Plastic Hearts, due for release November 27.
