Aminé Debuts New Album 'TwoPointFive'

Maya Ernest

Aminé has shared his new project TwoPointFive.

Included on the tape is his latest single "Charmander," which arrived with a video that saw the Portland native meandering through the Washington forest and donning a number of colorful outfits. With TwoPointFive, Aminé explores a new sonic aesthetic derived from club and dance music, coupled with his adept wordplay.

In a press release he said of the release, "The POINTFIVE projects are the breaks in between albums where I give myself the freedom to make music without expectations, focusing instead of spontaneity and the best of what comes from stream of conscious creation, which is why they arrive unexpectedly without a long rollout. It’s an opportunity to create for my day one fans the way I used to in my bedroom. Thanks for listening."

The 12-track offering is, per the release, "the second act" to 2018’s OnePointFive, which featured Gunna, Rico Nasty, and G Herbo. OnePointFive arrived between his 2017 debut studio album Good for You and 2020 LP Limbo.
