Britney Spears Has Been Granted the Right to Choose Her Own Attorney

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted Britney Spears the right to hire her own lawyer. The judge has approved Matthew Rosengart as Spears' choice of attorney on Wednesday.

Rosengart promised to petition the court to remove James Spears from his role of Britney Spears' conservator. Britney Spears also told the Los Angeles court that she wants her father charged with conservatorship abuse. Her conservatorship has been going on for 13 years with James Spears as her conservator.

This decision comes three weeks after Britney Spears' explosive testimony that left the general public buzzing for weeks. In her last testimony Britney Spears officially requested that the conservatorship under which she is living be terminated.

The hearing is the next step in the 39-year-old pop star’s effort to reclaim control over her life. All we have to say now is #freebritney.
