Marni isn't looking to slow down any time soon. Following their Lunar New Year "Year of the Rabbit" collection, the Italian fashion house looks to the workwear aesthetic of Carhartt WIP for a new collaborative capsule.
This marks the first time the two brands join forces. Carhartt WIP's utilitarian design collides with Marni's youthful energy taking on a floral theme and two-tone color-blocking. Amplified proportions and refined tailoring is employed on classic Carhartt workwear including oversized jackets with corduroy detailing and short-sleeve button-up shirts taking a similar approach. The floral print is extended to matching bottoms and a midi skirt to form a cohesive look.
The two-tone design takes on earth tones that are very much in line with Carhartt. The shearling reversible jacket is the obvious standout in the collection. The use of furry lamb shearing is distinctly in the wheelhouse of Marni while the jacket flips inside out to show off the leather interior. A co-branded wool crewneck sweater and an oversized button-up shirt with matching bottoms complete the apparel side of the assortment.
Rounding out the collection, Marni and Carhartt WIP offers a selection of accessories adorned in floral prints. Items range from slip-on sneakers to shopper bags and bucket hats. The campaign stars artist Bootsy Collins bringing his charismatic charm to the collection. The Marni and Carhartt WIP collection is available now on the Marni website as well as the Carhartt WIP website.
