The Weeknd was named Songwriter of the Year on Tuesday, April 13 at the second ever virtual ASCAP Pop Music Awards.
In addition to winning Songwriter of the Year, the Weeknd recieved most-performed song awards for both "Blinding Lights" and "Heartless." The two songs reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 list upon their release, with "Blinding Lights" reaching a record 57th week on the list.
