Mexican bedroom pop royalty Omar Apollo released his fourth LP, Ivory, April 8 via Warner Records.
The LP, which addresses lost/budding loves and self growth, sees Apollo at his most instrumentally diverse. Nowhere on the record is this sonic breadth more evident than the sequence of modern bedroom hip-hop snapshot "No Good Reason" into the oppositely solemn "Invincible." The latter recruits the long-silent Daniel Caesar to paint a downtempo portrait of romantic fragility.
Framed next to it's predecessor, 2020's Apollonio, Ivory is an intimate snapshot of Apollo's current standing within the scene -- placing candor above theatrics in pursuit of something wholly honest.
