The Weeknd Hints at New Music Created During Quarantine

A follow-up to After Hours might arrive sooner than fans thought. Over on Twitter, The Weeknd spent some time to share a series of cryptic tweets that point to a new project that he cooked up during quarantine.

After sharing a few GIFs that depict his inability to fall asleep, the XO Records head tweeted messages about creating magic and putting things together. "what is real?" Tesfaye first asked, following it up with "made so much magic in the small quarantined room," "nothing’s ever random" and "now just piecing it all together… it’s so beautiful," hinting that it’s a project he’s extremely proud of.

For his September 2020 Rolling Stone cover story, The Weeknd revealed that he was producing new songs in his home’s makeshift studio. "I might have another album ready to go by the time this quarantine is over," he shared, adding that he’s "guilty" of always aiming to do better than his previous album. He added, "But it’s never like, 'I’ve got to do the same type of song.' I’m so happy I’m not like that. My palette is so wide."

Take a look at the tweets and stay tuned for more info on The Weeknd’s forthcoming release.
