Popular Canadian rapper, Drake, has just recently released the official music video for his newest single Laugh Now Cry Later featuring Lil Durk. In attempts to recreate a commercial-like production, the video takes place in the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon where Drake attempts to show off his questionable athleticism alongside some of the world's greatest athletes.
Viewers are able to watch Drake in a one-on-one match with NBA's Brooklyn Nets' star forward, Kevin Durant, mimick NFL's Cleveland Browns Odell Beckham Jr.'s signature one-handed catch from the legend himself, just to get tackled by NFL's Seattle Seahawks Marshawn Lynch. Montages of the Nike Store within the headquarters also make appearances in the video, making obvious note of the signature orange shoe boxes and shopping bags. The video brings major promotion for the company.
Lil Durk, featured in the single verse on the track, also appears in the music video, riding jet skis and driving golf carts around Nike's massive HQ, alongside Drake. The rappers even show a preview of their favorite teams, wearing hats NBA's Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors, during their nostalgic-felt photoshoot.
Comedy drives the video, capturing Drake's attempts to show off his various skills—athleticism and acting.
The track is to appear in Drake's upcoming album Certified Lover Boy.
On our Intersect 1-10 rating scale, the Laugh Now Cry Later video receives a 9/10. Go and check out Drake's video and make sure to do what the name implies: laugh now and cry later.
