How TikTok is Helping Independent Artists Reach Success

TikTok has 689 million monthly active users globally. The social media platform has had a lot of success over the last year and has been downloaded over two billion times. As such, many independent artists have started to use the platform to promote their work.

Through its algorithm, TikTok makes it easier for artists to have their songs go viral. Songs like "Mad at Disney" by Salem Ilese and "Stuck in the Middle" by Tai Verdes have gained popularity on the platform, causing the songs to rise on music charts.

Now, many other independent artists are trying to reach the same success using TikTok. Liv Grace Blue recently released a new single called "Bad Chick," which started out as a video that received over three million views.

Haley Joelle wrote a song about her mom called "Molly" that has now been released. Joelle is a songwriter and singer who has used TikTok to promote her music. The song "Molly" received over 800,000 views on her page.

Going viral on the app isn't necessarily easy, but it is often doable. Some artists recommend staying consistent with videos and engagement.

The next time you see an independent artist when scrolling through your For You Page, engage with the video. It helps them gain more views and get to where they want to be.
