THE SOUND
The sound is unique, fresh, and smooth. From BIA's raspy voice and calm, carefree flow, to the beat that is perfect for cruising down the street flaunting and flexing, it all comes together to be a perfect anthem for confident girls everywhere. The beat has a bumping bass and a smooth vibe that can easily trigger some sexy slow dancing. It is safe to say that it is slow enough to learn all of the lyrics and have it stuck in your head, but fast enough to still turn up to it at a party. This is refreshing from a female rapper because a lot of the female rappers who are currently popular have more fast-paced aggressive music. The sound is so popular that it is even trending on the dancing app Tik Tok, where it is also used as a confident girl anthem. Although the sound is great, one area of improvement could have been to add variance to the sound and switch it up at some point on the song. But, I am sure BIA will master that as she grows and gets deeper and further into her career. Because of all of this, the sound on "COVER GIRL" receives an 8/10 on our Intersect 1-10 rating scale.

From her catchy and clever lyrics to her unique and melodic flow, BIA's strongest category was definitely the rapping. She raps like she doesn't have a care in the world, which fits perfectly with the vibe of the song. Along with her flow, the lyrics are so catchy that she is going to have girls everywhere walking around saying "Cover girl for certain", and reciting the clever parts like "N***as act like Future, but they say they want a Lauren. The irony: quit trying me". Her rapping was definitely the biggest and strongest element in making "COVER GIRL" a confident girl anthem. The art behind the single is as simple as BIA is a super pretty girl with a confident and sassy brand, and she perfectly implemented her brand into this song and because of that, she has made an anthem for confident girls everywhere, and not only confident girls, but less secure girls who will gain confidence because of it. The power of female-made anthems like this empowers women and young women more than most people would expect.
