One of the music industry's biggest producers, DJ Khaled, has just recently released his new music video for POPSTAR featuring Drake. The video, however, has many people talking about fellow Canadian artist, Justin Bieber, as he was the main star in the video, lip-syncing to the whole song.
Drake and DJ Khaled has made numerous tracks together, such as new release GREECE, which was released alongside POPSTAR this year, For Free on Khaled's Major Key album released in 2016, and many more.
Directed by Julien Christian Lutz PKA Director X, the music video starts off with Drake saying that Khaled is "off his rocker" as the producer has been pestering Drake to start production for their new song. Drake goes on to say that "[he] give[s] someone everything [he has]," mocking Khaled's signature saying, "and they're just like 'Another one, another one, another one.'" Making note that he can't even leave the country due to current COVID-19 travel restrictions, Drake calls in a favor from Bieber to help him out of his dilemma.
Throughout the video, Bieber shows off his mansion, luxury cars, expensive clothes—basically everything a person thinks of that categorizes a popstar. His manager, Scooter Braun, and wife, Hailey Bieber, also make an appearance in the music video.
In the midsts of the song, various celebrities are mentioned, name dropping people such as well-known singer Ariana Grande, and Bieber's ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez:
I'm a popstar, but this shit ain't bubblegum, yeah
You would probably think my manager is Scooter Braun, yeah
But my manager with twenty hoes in Buddakan, yeah, ayy
Look, Ariana, Selena, my Visa
At the end of the music video, Justin Bieber wakes up in bed next to his wife, Hailey Bieber, making viewers realize that the whole video was a dream. Realizing himself that it was a dream, he goes on to start his day by going on a walk with Hailey and their dog, soon being interrupted mid-walk by a phone call from, you guessed it, Drake.
