Rising Artist Marco Luka Releases New Single "get me high"

Maya Ernest

Rising artist Marco Luka has released his third single of the year, “get me high.”

Luka tells Intersect, "'get me high' is a beautiful piano ballad with some bass punch. To me, it feels very intimate and vulnerable yet powerful at the same time. The song itself is about being so in love with someone you can't see past it no matter what, almost like something you can’t get out of your system."

Based in North Carolina, Luka is a self-taught singer, songwriter and producer whose uninhibited do-it-yourself approach oozes both authenticity and creativity. The Cuban-American artist employs a hypnotic blend of Latin, trap, and indie alternative, citing Linkin Park, The Script, Young Thug, and Tame Impala as early influences.

Luka’s previously released single, "pretty little lies" dropped on March 31 as a follow-up to his single, "big talk," which was partly recorded at Duke University with professional basketball player Zion Williamson. Banger of the Day called the track “a wildly hard song, full of sticky melodies and flows that are sure to make your head bob,” while Early Rising claimed, “Luka is going to be one of the biggest breakout artists of 2021.”
