In Review: Arlo Parks' "Pegasus"

Arlo Parks is a British singer, songwriter, and poet who has gained significant acclaim for her introspective and emotive music. Her music is characterized by its intimate and soulful nature, often exploring themes of mental health, identity, love, and the complexities of human emotions. Arlo tapped Phoebe Bridgers for her newest single, Pegasus. Here's what we think.

SOUND

This track has a very soft and muted instrumental. Paul Epworth, Romil Hemnani, and Baird produced it. The percussion is light and adds perfect movement to the already euphonious track. It also matches perfectly with the airy nature of Arlo Park’s vocals. Phoebe Bridgers proves to be a perfect addition to this track sonically. Her vocals are also nicely mellow, and when the two sing together, it creates an extremely intimate atmosphere. The two get an 8/10 on the Intersect Rating Scale for their sound.

LYRICS

This track reflects the joy of having full transparency in a relationship. The two share an anecdote of a special moment where one partner tells the other, “I feel elated when you hold me." The other responds, “I think you're special ‘cause you told me”. The two lovers in this relationship share a very stable and fulfilling love where they can affirm each other without hesitation. This proves to be very rewarding for both parties. Arlo Parks and Phoebe score 9/10 on the Intersect Rating Scale for their lyrics.
