Clipse have released the moving new video for “The Birds Don’t Sing,” the third official visual from their acclaimed reunion album Let God Sort Em Out. Directed by Brendan O’Connor, the film was shot at the Thornton brothers’ family home in Virginia Beach and weaves together childhood footage, family photos, and an intimate performance in the living room. The video opens with Pusha’s son Nigel placing flowers on his grandparents’ grave, underscoring the track’s deeply personal homage to the duo’s late parents. Trading verses with John Legend and Voices of Fire, Pusha raps directly to their mother, Malice to their father, channeling both grief and gratitude.
The release follows Clipse’s historic performance of the song with Legend at Pharrell’s Grace For The World concert in Vatican City, where they became the first rap artists to perform at St. Peter’s Square. They reunited again at Legend’s sold-out Hollywood Bowl show earlier this week for a surprise appearance. With early GRAMMY buzz already circling both the album and single, “The Birds Don’t Sing” cements itself as one of the duo’s most powerful statements yet.
