Why Marni has the Best Lunar New Year Capsules

The Italian brand Marni continues their annual celebration of the Chinese holiday with a lively Year of the Rabbit capsule. While their LNY capsules are accompanied by brands like Gucci and Prada, Marni consistently manages to to do it best - here's why.

Pictured above, Marni is back with their new “Year of the Rabbit” capsule; a celebration of the Lunar New Year. Similar to their past Lunar New Year capsules, this line was a joint effort between the creative director Francesco Risso and Italian artist Flaminia Versonesi.

The capsule features clothing items like hoodies, sweaters and cardigans, and t-shirts with colorful graphics of rabbits. Along with the clothing, Marni released the Mary-Jane sneaker with merino wool upper, the white and yellow Dada Bumper sneakers, and the mini bag in a pale pink shade.

LNY capsules are not new to Marni or the fashion industry. Year after year, Marni along with brands like Gucci, Prada, and Moschino launch celebratory campaigns. Some brands add patterns and color-ways to in-line products, and some launch new products. Although we've seen a lot over the years, nobody does it like Marni.

Founded in 1994 by Consuelo Castiglioni, Marni is known for its fun, playful, and unpredictable ready-to-wear collections. They have mastered the art of abstract clothing through playing around with furs, patterns, and unique tailoring.

Their organically playful look has made their LNY capsules a piece of cake. The Chinese LNY traditions are fueled by color, light, and decorations, and so is Marni. This natural alignment has allowed them to repeatedly create LNY capsules that are infused with celebration and joy.
