Maverick Sabre, the critically acclaimed singer-songwriter and producer, has unveiled his latest single, "Lay Down On Me." This track marks the third release from his highly anticipated album Burn The Right Things Down, set to drop on October 18 via FAMM.
Produced by Zach Nahome—known for his work with artists like Bakar and PinkPantheress—the single explores the deep emotional connection between two people who find comfort in each other’s love. Sabre's heartfelt lyrics, such as "Just lay down on me, ‘cause I’ll never go," emphasize the unbreakable bond between souls.
Accompanying the release is a striking black-and-white music video directed by Billy King, featuring Sabre and his band performing outdoors. The video complements the song's intensity with imagery of intertwined hands and flickering flames, enhancing its emotional depth.
Burn The Right Things Down was born from a period of personal reflection, with Sabre confronting existential questions that shaped the album’s creation. Stepping back from the fast-paced London life, he delved into his experiences to produce music that carries a profound sense of urgency and meaning.
Hailing from Stoke Newington, London, and raised in County Wexford, Ireland, Sabre’s early exposure to Blues, Folk, and Country music, along with the Irish hip-hop scene, shaped his eclectic sound. Drawing inspiration from artists like Tupac and Nas, he has blended these influences into his own distinctive style over a career spanning more than a decade.
In the lead-up to the album's release, Sabre is set to host an intimate Live To Vinyl event at West London's Metropolis Studios, where he will perform the album live in a single take. This exclusive performance will be followed by a four-date Rough Trade tour, concluding with a special show at EARTH Hackney. Fans can expect unforgettable live experiences that mirror the raw emotion of his latest work.
