Fresh off his sold-out HEIS world tour — which hit major arenas like Madison Square Garden and The O2 — global Afrobeats star Rema has released his new single “Kelebu,” a high-octane, rhythm-fueled anthem produced by London.
Arriving on the one-year anniversary of his critically acclaimed HEIS album, the track channels the vibrant energy of early African dance music and was inspired by the soundtracks of Rema’s childhood. “We used to dance to a lot of Caribbean and Francophone bounces... They just kept repeating one word with a fantastic instrumental backing it up, and we all danced,” Rema shared.
“Kelebu” follows a string of singles released earlier this year, including “Baby (Is It A Crime)” and “Bout U,” and continues Rema’s evolution as a genre-shaping force. The track’s release comes after his surprise appearance during Drake’s Wireless Festival set, where he was praised as a standout performer.
With over 70 billion streams, a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit, and a record-breaking HEIS era under his belt — plus a recent runway debut at Paris Fashion Week — Rema is showing no signs of slowing down. As he prepares to retreat into the studio for his next chapter, “Kelebu” offers a bold reminder that he’s just getting started.
