Philadelphia four-piece and self-described 'freak-pop' band Empath delivered their sophomore LP Visitor February 11th via Fat Possum.
Much of the LP, as if presented by a washed-out garage band, is an eccentric portrait of youthful exuberance and emotion not meant to be fully understood, from the packed-to-the-brim sonics of "Elvis Comeback Special" to the fuzz-laden, adolescent passion of "Diamond Eyelids." The release is both brash and soothing–as meaningful pop bands ought to be.
Empath's new LP is perfect for fans of Alvvays, Trace Mountains, and Spirit of the Beehive. Listen to Visitor below and find @empath.jpeg on Instagram.
